Purchase and sales

Using agents and dealers to sell your car or van, trade it in, or buy a new car or van can sometimes be a confusing process, leaving you wondering whether you’ve really struck the best deal you could.

I aim to make it a simple, worry-free transaction.  I operate a fixed and transparent commission scheme, so you know upfront exactly how much you’re paying me to arrange the purchase or sale.  For sales, you’ll receive the proceeds, less my fee. For purchases, you’ll pay the best price I can get for the car or van, and only when the deal is agreed to your satisfaction, pay my fee.

My fees are:

Up to £5,000  £300.00+VAT
£5,000 to £9,999 £350.00+VAT
£10,000 to £14,999      £400.00+VAT
£15,000 to £19,999 £450.00+VAT
£20,000+    £500.00+VAT

If there are other expenses associated with the sale or purchase, I’ll explain and agree these with you at before we start. These might include:

  • Advertising
  • Fuel
  • Travel expenses for collection/delivery
  • Valeting
  • Servicing and mechanical repairs
  • Bodywork and cosmetic repairs

Warranties with sales

We’re legally obliged to provide a three-month warranty for every car and van we retail. I retain £300 of the sale price for this three-month period. If no claims are made against the warranty, I’ll repay it to you as soon as the period expires. If claims are made, I’ll provide receipts and reimburse you anything remaining from the £300. This is to comply with the law for all used car dealers and agents.

Trade sales

I can sell vehicles on a trade basis (directly to another trader without warranty) or sell your car or van at auction.
